Goswami was a recipient of Sankardev Award in 2004. He is also a recipient of the honorary D Litt degree from Dibrugarh University in 2010.
The Sattra Mahasabha had conferred the Sattra Ratna title on him in the year 2005. The government also gave him literary pension in 2000. The award carries a plaque and cash award, which will be presented later this year.
