Sattriya festival to instil spirit of ethos :
GUWAHATI: In view of the recent spate of violence engulfing Assam,
Auniati Sattra on Tuesday announced the commencement of a colourful and
spiritual Sattriya festival commencing in December in order to instill
the spirit of Vaishnavite ethos and culture amongst people.
Brahmaputra Board to be restructured :
NEW DELHI, Oct 2 – Against the backdrop of
frequent floods in Assam and allegations of its failures to deal with
the situation, the Centre has
decided to restructure the Brahmaputra Board and turn it into a body to
develop and manage water resources of the entire northeastern region,
reports PTI.
